$TBT Having Difficulties Logging In? All functions of $vars_config{BBName} require you to login and accept cookies from our server. If you are unable to login or preform any functions then please review the help section below as well as our online FAQ. The most common causes of failed login are:

» Cookies Blocked and/or Javascript Disabled:
Most login problems are caused by blocked cookies and/or disabled javascript. Each are used to store your login information, indicate which posts are new, and your preferred topic view. If you are blocking cookies or have disabled javascript in your web browser or use an Internet security/privacy program that blocks first party cookies you may not be able to stay logged in and post new messages. You may unblock cookies and reenable javascript by following the appropriate instructions below. If you are using a web browser or an Internet security/privacy program not listed below please consult it's documentation for instructions for unblocking (first party) cookies and enabling javascript.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x
  1. On the menu bar click on "Tools" then "Internet Options."
  2. From Internet Options, select the "Security" tab.
  3. Click Custom Level.
  4. Scroll down to "Scripting," make sure "Active Scripting" is set to Enable.
  5. Click "OK."
  6. Click "Yes" or "OK" when asked, "Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone."
  7. Click the "Privacy Tab."
  8. Click the "Advanced..." button in the Settings heading.
  9. Check "Override automatic cookie handling."
  10. Click "Accept" under First-part Cookies.
  11. Click "Block" under Third-party Cookies.
  12. Click "Always allow session cookies."
  13. Click "OK."
  14. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  15. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
  1. On the menu bar click on "Tools" then "Internet Options."
  2. Click on the "Security" tab.
  3. Click "Custom Level" button.
  4. Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
  5. Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable."
  6. Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable."
  7. Scroll down to "Scripting," section.
  8. Set "Active Scripting" to "Enable."
  9. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  10. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
  1. On the menu bar click on "View" then "Internet Options."
  2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section.
  4. Select "Always accept cookies."
  5. Click on the "Security" tab.
  6. Select the "Custom" radio button.
  7. Click "Advanced."
  8. Scroll down to "Scripting," section.
  9. Set "Active Scripting" to "Enable."
  10. Click "OK."
  11. Click "Yes" or "OK"
  12. Click "OK" on the Internet Properties window.
  13. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.
Netscape Communicator 4.x
  1. Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  2. Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
  3. Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
  4. Also select the 'Enable JavaScript' boxes.
  5. Click "OK."
  6. Close all open Netscape windows and then relaunch Netscape.
 		America Online Web Browser
  1. On the AOL Settings menu, click "Preferences."
  2. On the "My AOL Preferences" window, click "Internet Properties (WWW)".
  3. On the Internet Options window, click the "Security tab," and then click "Custom Level."
  4. In the Settings list, scroll down until you see the word "Cookies."
  5. Click the button next to the word "Enable,"
  6. Click "OK."
  7. You may have to quit and restart you AOL software for these settings to go into effect.
McAfee Privacy Service
  1. Right-click the red "M" icon by your system clock.
  2. Click "Privacy Service."
  3. Click "Options."
  4. The McAfee Privacy Service window appears. Click the "Cookies" tab.
  5. Enter each website address from which you would like to allow cookies.
  6. Click "Add."
  7. Once completed, close the window.
Norton Personal Firewall
  1. Open NIS.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
  4. Click Advanced Options.
  5. Click the Web tab.
  6. Click Add Site. A new site/domain box appears.
  7. Enter $vars_display{HomePageURL} for the url of the site that you want to receive the referrer information and click OK.
  8. That site name appears in the left frame of the Advanced Options window.
  9. Click the name of the new site.
  10. Click the Privacy tab.
  11. Check the "Use these rules for..." box.
  12. Change the Referrer from "Block" to "Allow."
  13. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  14. Click OK to close the Options window.
If you wish to disable all filtering: Click on custom settings and make sure enable privacy is checked. Then click on the Custom Level tab. Under Confidential settings select medium. Under Cookie Blocking select None:Allow Cookies. Do not place a check mark next to Enable Browser Privacy. Place a check mark next to Enable Secure Connections (https). Click OK and you're all set.

Zone Alarm Pro
  1. Open Zone Alarm Pro by double clicking on its icon in the system tray.
  2. Click on "Privacy."
  3. Slide the "Cookie Control to Off."
» Inaccurate Date, Time, and/or Time Zone:
If you computer's date, time, and/or time zone are incorrectly set this could potentially be the cause of your login difficulties. For example, if you are on the West coast it should be set to Pacific Time with the correct time for that time zone -- not the Eastern Time zone with the clock adjusted to correct the difference.

On most windows computers you can adjust the date and time by following these instructions:
  1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Click "Control Panel"
  4. Double click "Date and Time"
  5. Click the "Time Zone" tab
  6. Adjust the Time Zone if it is incorrect by selecting the correct zone in the drop down menu and then hitting "Apply".
  7. Click the "Date & Time" tab
  8. Confirm the date and time are correct and adjust if neccessary.
  9. Click "Apply"
  10. Click "OK"
You might also need to clear out your browser cache, clear out any cookies set by the site, and try again. Please consult your computer's help manual or technical support to learn how to adjust and correctly set your computers date and time if the proceeding instructions didn't work for you.


» Corrupt Cookies:
The cookies used by $vars_config{BBName} may have become corrupted. You may try clearing all cookies set by our community by clicking: $vars_config{CGIURL}/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=clearcookies. Once the cookies have been cleared you will be required to login again.


» Inactive or Disabled Account:
To free up our server's resources we must delete any accounts belonging to persons that have been a member of the community for more than 30 days AND have never posted or replied to a message.

If you have just been lurking we encourage you to start participating in the community by posting a new message or replying to a topic to avoid loosing your account!

Former members that have had their account deleted due to inactivity are welcome to reregister, but, please only do so if you now intend to participate.
